NC Republican Party wants more transparency from Cooper
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina Republican Party held a press conference Friday to call Roy Cooper a failure as the state’s Attorney General.
According to the NCGOP, WRAL in Raleigh reported Roy Cooper has only sent 14 emails from his official government email address over the past 16 years.
The NCGOP said this raises several questions and that North Carolina citizens deserve more transparency from Cooper.
“I was very disappointed the entire time I was in Raleigh with the lack of leadership from the Attorney General’s Office,” Former North Carolina Senator Thom Goolsby said.
“Roy Cooper takes every opportunity to walk away and not do the business of the people of North Carolina,” Goolsby said.
In an email statement, Jamal Little, a Cooper campaign spokesman said, “It’s Governor McCrory who is facing a lawsuit from multiple news organizations for repeatedly refusing to release public records. With this partisan attack McCrory is trying to distract from his own misdeeds and falling poll numbers instead of working to clean up the messes he has made.”
