NC woman accused of trying to burn officers
BREVARD, NC (AP) — A 25-year-old Brevard woman has been
charged with attempted murder after police say she tried burn
officers who were arresting a man.
Police Chief Phil Harris says officers were called to an
apartment complex by a neighbor who reported a man was acting
strangely.
As officers tried to arrest 32-year-old Michael Kitchen on an
old charge, they say Natasha Sinclair came out and poured a
flammable liquid on one of the officers and returned with burning
cotton balls that she threw at the officers.
The carpet caught fire and the man and woman ran into a bedroom.
Both were arrested a short time later. Sinclair also is charged
with assault and arson. Kitchen was arrested on the outstanding
misdemeanor charge and resisting arrest.
It was unclear if they have attorneys.
