NC authorities investigate Durham police shooting
DURHAM — State police in North Carolina are investigating the shooting of a man by a Durham police officer.
Durham police said a man was being treated for life-threatening injuries at Duke University Hospital after being shot by a city police officer. Neither the names of the victim nor the officer were immediately released.
The officer shot a man shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday after responding to reports of shots fired in a neighborhood just off Interstate 85.
The State Bureau of Investigation was reviewing the shooting, which is standard procedure when an officer is involved in a shooting.
