NC congressman to host alternative energy summit

WILMINGTON — A North Carolina congressman is hosting a summit focusing on alternative energy and how southeastern counties can benefit.

Rep. Mike McIntyre said finding “cleaner, greener, American-made alternative energy sources” is vital to national and economic security. The summit Monday will feature three panels
examining ocean resources, biofuels and renewable electricity.

The summit will be held at the Burney Center at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
