NC county to get 220 textile jobs
RALEIGH — A central North Carolina county is getting a new textile plant that is expected to employ about 220 people.
Gov. Beverly Perdue said Tuesday that Sustainable Textile Group LLC will spend $11 million to open the facility in China Grove in Rowan County.
Sustainable Textile Group plans to make yarn from reprocessed fibers.
Perdue says the jobs will pay an average annual wage of $29,000.
The project is getting a $300,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund, which provides financial assistance to attract business projects and create new jobs.
