NC Dems: Presidential debate to be held at Raleigh’s RBC Center

RALEIGH (AP) — If Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama do debate each other in North Carolina before the state’s May 6 primary, they will meet at the RBC Center in Raleigh.

The North Carolina Democratic Party said yesterday that the arena would host the 90-minute debate, to be broadcast on CBS.

The only trouble? While Clinton’s campaign agreed last week to debate on April 27, the date favored by the state party, Obama’s camp wanted to debate a week earlier

Obama spokesman Dan Leistikow said late yesterday the campaign is still deciding whether the April 27 date works for his schedule.

North Carolina’s May 6 primary will divide 115 delegates between the Democratic candidates.
