NC jury convicts teen of murdering school peer
RALEIGH, NC (AP) — Two suburban Raleigh teenagers are being sentenced after pleading guilty in a murder case centered on high school romance and jealousy.
Multiple media organizations reported that 19-year-olds Allegra Dahlquist and Aadil Khan of Apex are scheduled for sentencing Monday on second-degree murder charges for their roles in the 2008 slaying. Both agreed to testify against a ringleader in the scheme to kill Matthew Silliman, a high school senior and Eagle Scout. He was found zipped into a sleeping bag, with his hands and feet bound with plastic zip ties and a bag over his head.
Nineteen-year-old Ryan Hare was convicted in September of first-degree murder and murder conspiracy in Silliman’s killing. A prosecutor said Hare sought revenge because Silliman kissed Dahlquist, Hare’s girlfriend.
