NC man accused of stealing neighbor’s electricity
GASTONIA, N.C. — A North Carolina man is accused of stealing electricity from a neighbor, along with some of the man’s jewelry.
The Gaston Gazette reported that 33-year-old Brad Eliot Morton is accused of breaking into a neighbor’s house Wednesday and stealing about $3,000 worth of jewelry.
A magistrate’s statement also says Morton ran a drop cord from his neighbor’s home to his own to tap into the man’s electric lines.
Morton is charged with breaking and/or entering, larceny and second-degree trespassing.
He was being held in jail under a $10,000 bond. It was unclear Thursday if he had an attorney.
