NC man charged in MD in deaths of mom, grandmother
FAYETTEVILLE, NC (AP) – North Carolina police say a man wanted in the deaths of his mother and grandmother has been arrested in Maryland. Fayetteville police spokesman Dan Grubb said 29-year-old Tarae Lamont Mosby of Fayetteville was picked up Morningside, Md., on a weapons charge early Sunday.
Grubb says Mosby is charged with two counts of murder and one charge of larceny of a motor vehicle in Fayetteville.
The bodies of 47-year-old Karen Mosby and 69-year-old Betty Pettigrew were found late Sunday morning after a relative went to the house to check on the women. It wasn’t immediately clear how long they had been dead or how they died.
Grubb said Tarea Mosby is being held in the Prince George’s County jail and police are working to extradite him to North Carolina. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer.
