NC Marines recognize families with fun day
CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. — Military officials in North Carolina will recognize the sacrifices of the families of Marines with a fun-filled day of competition and tour of the latest equipment.
The 2nd Marine Logistics Group at Camp Lejeune will host a Family Day on Friday for the families of the unit’s 6,000 Marines and sailors.
The event will feature an impressive display of military vehicles including the MV-22 Osprey, which can take off like a helicopter and fly like a plane, an amphibious assault vehicle and an Abrams battle tank. A petting zoo and bounce houses will also be set up for young children.
Marines and their families will also compete in basketball, softball and a unit wide tug-of-war competition.
