NC reservoir to be open to fishing, boating

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Anglers and boaters in North Carolina will soon be able to use the Randleman Regional Reservoir, courtesy of a new marina and fishing pier.

The News & Record of Greensboro reported the Piedmont Triad Regional Water Authority voted unanimously Tuesday to open the lake for boating and limited pier fishing on March 3.

The authority also approved Randleman Regional Reservoir as the official name of the lake and dam, which soon will provide drinking water to thousands of residents in Guilford and Randolph counties. Board members chose the name over Randleman Lake, saying the wanted to emphasize that the lake’s primary use is for drinking water, not recreation.

The lake will be open for fishing and boating from March through Nov. 30.
