NC SAT score up over last year

The numbers are in, and North Carolina’s SAT scores are up over last year.

The state average last year was 1004. This year, students scored three points higher.

But, our state is still 10 points behind the national average of 1017.

Here is how scores break down in our area.

Bladen County students scored an average of 856. Kids in Brunswick County scored higher, at 1003. Columbus County averaged 897. New Hanover County students scored highest in our area, averaging 1029. Pender County students averaged 985.
