NC soldier charged with shooting neighbor’s dog
FAYETTEVILLE — Police say a Special Forces soldier has been charged with two misdemeanors after his neighbor’s pet dog was shot to death in their Fayetteville neighborhood.
The Fayetteville Observer reported Thursday that police said 22-year-old Staff Sgt. Sasha Lee was charged Wednesday night with animal cruelty and discharging a firearm in the city.
Police Lt. David Sportsman said Lee told officers that the dog, Tater, came into his yard and growled at him and he felt threatened. Sportsman said Lee told police he went in his house and
came outside with a gun.
Sportsman said Lee was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group at Fort Bragg. Lee didn’t have to post bond because the charges were misdemeanors.
