NC students turn school into Holocaust museum

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Students have turned a wing of their North Carolina school into a Holocaust museum that will be open to the public for just one day.

The Charlotte Observer reported that sixth-graders at Community School of Davidson transformed the middle school into a museum that’s open 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The museum will be taken apart Thursday because classes end Friday.

Sixth-graders have created a Holocaust museum at the end of each of the past three school years as part of their Holocaust study unit.

Exhibits lead visitors from Adolph Hitler’s rise to power to the liberation of concentration camp survivors. One room resembles a Warsaw ghetto, while another has a concentration camp barrack with a bunk bed.
