NCDOT: Nevermind, Diverging Diamond work not happening this weekend

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Due to a looming storm and the risks of severe weather, the NCDOT has decided to cancel plans to complete the Diverging Diamond Interchange in Leland this weekend.

Yesterday, project managers made the call to go with the project, even with the forecast. NCDOT spokesman Brian Rick said he received word this morning that the track of the storm and intensity changed their minds.

It will be rescheduled for the weekend after the Azalea Festival: Friday, April 15, to Monday, April 18.
