NC’s agricultural heritage celebrated at festival
RALEIGH, NC (AP) — North Carolina is celebrating its agricultural heritage with the 2012 Got to Be N.C. Festival at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.
The three-day festival continues Saturday and Sunday afternoon after beginning Friday. While rides and food are popular at the festival, Agriculture Secretary Steve Troxler says it also has the serious purpose of encouraging people to buy North Carolina products.
Agriculture is the No. 1 industry in the state and generates more than $70 billion annually.
