Neighbors along Surf City shortcut to enforce toll over holiday weekend

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A toll road in Pender County is making a return for the end of the summer. The neighbors bringing it back blame the NCDOT.

The neighborhood began the tolls this summer to deter heavy traffic along the Surf City cut through.

The toll check point will be at the intersection of Cedar Avenue and Doe Ridge.

Neighbors say there may be some location changes and additional check points.

Signs about the toll will be off Highway 210.

The toll collection station will open at 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday.
