NEW DETAILS: Man found dead on WB identified

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Wrightsville Beach Police have identified the man found dead on the beach.

The man was found near the Beach Access 31 Friday morning around 8:30 a.m. He’s identified as Daniel Lloyd.

Police say the cause of death appears to be a heart attack, but the official cause of death will be determined pending an autopsy.

Lloyd was found laying face down wearing only shorts. A park ranger in the area said he saw Lloyd in the same spot the evening before.
