NEW DETAILS: Surveillance pictures released in armed robbery

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Investigators with the Wilmington Police Department have released surveillance pictures of the man they said robbed a convenience store at gunpoint.

It happened at the Northside Food Market at 601 Red Cross St. around 7:31 a.m. Monday. Investigators said they believe the suspect watched the store for several minutes before going in, showed a small silver handgun and said, “You already know what it is, ma.” When the robber left, police said he told the clerk, “I’m sorry, ma.” The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police said the suspect is described as a black male, 5’10” – 6’0″ and 160lbs, wearing a red hoodie and black pants cuffed with designs on the back pockets.
