New drug task force arrests several on heroin charges, 5 still fugitives
(PRESS RELEASE) – A joint federal and local law enforcement operation ends with more than dozen people off the streets.
The Coastal Carolina Criminal Enterprise Task Force arrested and charged multiple suspects in a day-long sweeping operation aimed at combating the rise in heroin distribution along the coast. Just two weeks ago, the FBI’s Wilmington Resident Agency, the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation announced their joint initiative and already the first strike to the drug suppliers has been felt.
Five suspects are currently fugitives. Two subjects were already in jail in state custody. 11 additional suspects were taken into custody without incident and are facing a variety of heroin or drug related offenses. They are:
• Ian Chandler Bellamy-Brown, 21, of Longwood (currently a fugitive)
• William Lamont Edward Daniels, 34, of Longwood (currently a fugitive)
• Stevie Dewayne Riggins, 31, of Green Sea, SC (currently a fugitive)
• Antonia Montuz Smith, 38, of Longwood (currently a fugitive)
• Delonne Christopher Watts, 27, of Longwood (currently a fugitive)
• Troy Ahkeem Wilson, 37, of Winnabow (federal prisoner)
• Bradley Christopher Griffin, Jr. 31, of Longwood (Brunswick Co. Detention Ctr.)
• Daphne Claudette Stanley, 42, of Longwood (Brunswick Co. Detention Ctr.)
• Patrick Lee Taylor, 34, of Longwood (Brunswick Co. Detention Ctr.)
• Michael Jarell Stanley, 28, of Longwood (Brunswick Co. Detention Ctr.)
• Jody Overby, 38, of Supply (Brunswick Co. Detention Ctr.)
• Sharmaine Ranotta Brown, 29, of Ash (Brunswick Co. Detention Ctr.)
• Jodi Riley, 40, of Ash (Brunswick Co. Detention Ctr.)
• Hester Griffin, 56, of Longwood (Brunswick Co. Detention Ctr.)
• Xavier Antialio Williams, 27, of Calabash (Brunswick Co. Detention Ctr.)
• Clifton Jenkins, 28, of Wallace (Duplin Co. Detention Ctr.)
• Israel McCloud-Williamson, 21, of Wilmington (New Hanover Co. Detention Ctr.)
These arrests are an outstanding example of what local and federal law enforcement can accomplish when we work together to target the individuals who threaten the safety and stability of our neighborhood streets. The investigation was conducted by the FBI’s Coastal Carolina Criminal Enterprise Task Force which is comprised of the FBI Charlotte Division’s Wilmington Resident Agency, the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.
The following agencies assisted in the arrest operation on August, 3, 2016, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office, the Jacksonville Police Department, the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office, the Wilmington Police Department, and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.
The Task Forces’ joint investigations will be supported by our partners at the United States Attorney’s Office Eastern District of North Carolina and our local New Hanover and Brunswick County District Attorney’s Offices.
