New Hanover County man arrested for possessing child pornography

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) – After a two year investigation, a Wilmington man faces several felony charges for sexual exploitation of a minor.

The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with the FBI and NC SBI have arrested Gary Randall Porter.

Detectives began investigating Porter when they received word he was in possession of child pornography.

According to warrants, Porter has photos of unknown children, between the ages of 1 -4, either naked or engaged in sexual acts with adults.

He’s charged with several counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Porter was arrested yesterday and booked into the New Hanover County Detention Facility under a $150,000 secure bond.
