New Hanover County superintendent’s contract extended

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — New Hanover County Schools Superintendent Tim Markley will stay on the job a little while longer.

According to a news release, the New Hanover County School Board completed its annual evaluation and decided to extend his contract for one year.

It will now end June 30, 2022. His contract was last extended a year ago.

His current salary is $210,000. He will receive a $5,000 increase for the 2018-2019 school year.
