New Hanover Disaster Coalition to host 2026 Disaster Preparedness Expo
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover Disaster Coalition is set to host the 2026 Disaster Preparedness Expo, a free community-wide event aimed at helping residents prepare for emergencies.
The event is open to all New Hanover County residents and will focus on practical, engaging and family-friendly disaster preparedness education.
Organizers say the goal is to strengthen the community’s resilience so residents can be stronger together before, during and after any disaster.
The expo is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wilmington’s Skyline Center, located at 929 Front St.
According to the coalition, the event will feature preparedness tools and resources, food trucks, free ice pops, giveaways and a kids zone with activities.
