NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The new year brought a new baby for one area family.

Olivia Lou Haas was New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s first baby of 2016. A hospital spokeswoman sent us a photo of Olivia, who was born at 1:42 a.m. New Year’s morning.

She weighs 6 lbs. 11 ounces, and is 18.5 inches long, according to the spokeswoman.

Miranda Crider and Matt Haas of Wilmington are her proud parents.
