New make-up day schedule approved

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County School Board approved a new schedule covering all six missed school days due to winter weather.

They sent out polls asking schools their preference. The board went with the most popular option, adding 30 minutes to every school day for a month.

So for March, the school day will begin 15 minutes earlier and end 15 minutes later in all New Hanover County schools.

The last day of classes has been pushed to Friday, June 13.

Many were pleased Saturdays and Spring Break have been preserved.
