New Superintendent named in Bladen County

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (NEWS RELEASE) – On Wednesday, October 27, 2010 Bladen County Board of Education Chairman Berry Lewis announced that Roland T. McKoy, III has been appointed the Interim Superintendent and Donald Kelly has been appointed the Interim Assistant Superintendent pending final board approval at the November 8, 2010 Board of Education meeting. Both will serve for the remainder of the 2010-2011 school year.

Mr. McKoy assumes the duties of Superintendent October 28, 2010. Mr. Kelly, the Director of Testing and Accountability assumes the duties of Assistant Superintendent October 28, 2010. Mr. Kelly will continue to oversee the Testing Department until further notice.

Mr. McKoy and Mr. Kelly bring a combined total of 70 years of education experience to these leadership positions. Both have spent their entire education careers in Bladen County and understand the needs of the school sytem and the communities of Bladen County.
