New traffic patterns likely for Wells Fargo championship
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (StarNews) — New traffic patterns are being mulled as a possible remedy for the congestion anticipated with the May 2017 Wells Fargo Championship in Porters Neck.
The golf tournament’s operations team and the N.C. Department of Transportation are several months deep into working out the best methods to address the thousands of visitors expected to attend the championship when it tees off at the Eagle Point Golf Club May 1-7.
NCDOT spokesman Brian Rick said the two organizations have been meeting to map out “parking areas, alternate traffic patterns and various modes of travel.”
