New Year’s holiday changing trash pickup schedules

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — If your trash cans are still full from the Christmas holiday, check out these schedule changes.

A City of Wilmington spokesman said due to the holiday, Friday trash pickup will be similar to Christmas. Residents need to get out their cans for a Wednesday pickup. In Wrightsville Beach, there will be no pickups on Friday, but residents have two pickup days a week. Other towns in New Hanover County aren’t affected by the holiday.

In Brunswick County, the trash pickup schedule is normal. In Pender County, residents need to consult with the company that picks up their trash. There are several in the county.
