New ABC Boss starts today, couldn’t meet with us

WILMINGTON – The new boss of New Hanover County’s Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission started work today.

Dan Sykes used to be the General Manager of Orange County’s ABC.

He takes over a system clouded in controversy after revelations about executive compensation came to light.

We asked to talk with him today to see what his first priorities would be – but his staff didn’t carve out any time for him to meet with us.
