New chairman chosen for NC Wildlife Commission

RALEIGH — A Wilmington businessman has been elected chairman of the North Carolina Wildlife Commission.

The agency said Wednesday that Steve Windham of Winnabow was elected to replace Wes Seegars, who had been chairman since 2006.

Windham was one of five commissioners reappointed by Gov. Beverly Perdue.

Charles Bennett of Matthews was re-elected vice chairman.

The 19-member commission establishes policies and regulations that govern hunting, fishing and boating in North Carolina.
