New Columbus County board of elections leader

The Columbus County Board of Elections has a new leader Thursday.

The State Board of Elections has appointed Andy Anderson to replace Jesse Graham as the county elections board chairman.

Graham resigned as the State Board of Elections was trying to remove him after learning that he’d been improperly instructing poll workers.

Graham’s mistakes may have influenced the results of the primary elections. His replacement, Andy Anderson, is a Whiteville resident and former Whiteville City Council member.
