New Hanover County issues boil water notice
New Hanover County issued a boil water notice Friday morning for some residents and businesses in the Murrayville area.
The county says the warning is because of planned improvements in the area. Residents and businesses should boil water before drinking it in the Brookfield and Brierwood subdivisions, Murrayville Station, Lowe’s Foods at Murrayville and a portion of Gordon Road west of I-40.
A news release from the county says work was completed overnight and service was restored this morning. The county says it is unlikely there will be a problem with the water, but folks should bring water to a rolling boil for a minute or two should be enough.
The county says water quality testing typically takes 24 hours to complete. The county plans to issue an update when it is done.
