New Hanover County high schools to get extra funding

High schools in New Hanover County will be getting extra funding to better prepare students for graduation.

More than $500,000 will be given to high schools in New Hanover County to fund tutoring programs. Under state requirement high school students must past six required courses like English one and algebra one to receive their diploma.

Students who are falling behind in class will be able to get extra help at after school tutoring sessions or possible Saturday classes.
