New Hanover County Schools hop on social networking
New Hanover County Schools have hopped on the band wagon; they are now on Facebook and Twitter. Parents, teachers, and students can now keep track of what is going on around campus through the social-networking sites.
Twitter and Facebook will be used to inform everyone of events going on and in emergency situations. Parents can get tweets and Facebook updates about open house events, and see pictures of students new dress codes.
New Hanover County Schools spokesperson Valita Quattlebaum said, “As we face shrinking budgets this year and in future years this is a very economical thing for us to do.”
Quattlebaum said in emergency situations, school officials will notify parents in every way possible, including Facebook and Twitter.
