New Hanover getting transportation money
New Hanover County will receive nearly $5 million from the Transportation Board for travel improvements.
The bridge on old NC 133 in Wilmington will be replaced. The county is awarded $3.3 million for that project. Work will start in December and will be complete by October of 2010.
Also, $1.5 million will go to improve the southern part of the existing computerized traffic signal system in Wilmington.
