New story for Old Books

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A new chapter was written today for the bookstore Old Books on Front Street. After months of having no where to go because their old building was condemned, Old Books on Front Street has finally found a new home at 249 North Front Street. Managing Partner Gwenyfar Rohler says the re opening of the store could not have happened without the continuous support of the community. “Family business is talked about a lot in America today as something nostalgic that we remember from the Eisenhower era and independent book stores are closing every day and to have had a community come together to make this family owned independent book store not only reopen but reopen on this scale and succeed like this is something I don’t really have words to describe,” says Rohler.

She goes on to say that although the store has only moved three blocks from it’s original location, Old Books on Front Street has come a long way and she’s excited to see it continue to grow. The store celebrated their grand re opening today with many customers, including Mayor Bill Saffo.
