New warehouse opens at state port in Morehead City
MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. — The state port in Morehead City has opened a new warehouse for paper, steel and lumber.
The new 177,000-square foot warehouse officially opened last week.
The port is the nation’s second largest port for natural rubber imports used for tire manufacturing at plants in Wilson and Fayetteville. It is the gateway for phosphate fertilizers, lumber for construction and military equipment.
The port generates $49 million annually in tax revenues.
