The NCHSAA High School Football playoffs have yet to get underway and one Cape Fear area team is already advancing to the second round. Hoggard High School announced today the Vikings football team will advance in the state playoffs due to covid-19 protocols within the Leesville Road program.

New Hanover Boys Soccer sees their unbeaten season fall short in the title game

The New Hanover boys soccer team battled from start to finish on Saturday night in the NCHSAA Class 3A State Championship game, but fell just short in their quest for the schools first soccer title. Weddington claimed the 2021 championship beating the Wildcats in overtime, 2-1.

Topsail Lacrosse drops tightly contested Final Four game to East Chapel Hill

The Topsail boys lacrosse team fell behind 4-0 early in the first quarter on Wednesday night, but the Pirates battled back to regain the 8-7 lead in the third quarter. The comeback effort fell just short down the stretch for Topsail as they fell to East Chapel Hill in the NCHSAA East Final, 13-11.

New Hanover boys soccer dominates in Final Four, advances to the State Championship

The New Hanover boys soccer team kept their historic season alive on Tuesday night. The Wildcats took down Southern Alamance 3-0 in the NCHSAA Class 3A Final Four to advance to the State Championship game.
