Next steps in solid waste management discussed Monday

New Hanover County commissioners will discuss the next step in their solid waste management plan Monday night.

They are expected to vote on a request for proposals put together by county staff members. The RFP will be used by companies applying to take over the county’s solid waste management. It includes evaluation criteria, as well as a long-term flexible contract.

If the board approves the draft Monday night, staff is expected to make a recommendation for a final plan by June 1st.
