NHCS: Threatening social media post prompted lockdown at three schools

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Anderson Elementary, Murray Middle, and Ashley High schools were placed under a brief lockdown Friday morning.

New Hanover County Schools says it was due to a threatening post on social media.

Law enforcement officials investigated the post.

As of 11 a.m. the lockdown had been lifted at all schools.
