DALLAS (AP) — Sixth-ranked Texas A&M gets to spend the next two weekends in the Dallas area, where every college team would like to be in January.

The Aggies (3-0) start their North Texas stretch Saturday at former Southwest Conference rival SMU (0-2). The Mustangs’ home opener is their first game since coach June Jones’ unexpected resignation.

Texas A&M then has a neutral-site SEC game against Arkansas in the Dallas Cowboys’ stadium where the national championship game will be played in January.

Aggies coach Kevin Sumlin says his team wants the preparation and performance this week to duplicate next week. He feels they have caught a break with consecutive games with the same mid-afternoon kickoff time.

A&M is a nearly five-touchdown favorite against the Mustangs, who were outscored 88-6 their first two games.

The game airs at 3:30 p.m. on ABC and WWAY.
