Driver cited, no serious injuries in deputy-involved crash

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A driver was cited after getting into a traffic crash with a sheriff’s deputy this morning in Brunswick County.

It happened at the intersection of US 17 and Persimmon Road near Calabash around 8:20 a.m. Troopers say both drivers, including Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Sam Davis, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Tpr. H.A. Cannady says the driver of the other car was cited for failure to yield after pulling out in front of Davis’s unmarked car.
