No tax increase in Wilmington budget
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington City Council voted in favor of no property tax increase in next year’s budget at Tuesday night’s meeting.
The nearly $88 million dollar budget was designed to maintain core services. It also includes a 2 percent pay raise for all employees and funds a 1.5 percent merit raise for eligible employees.
The council will hold a second reading of the budget and vote again at its next meeting on June 18th.
