No Port Southport receives grant

A local non-profit was awarded a grant to study environmental affects of a proposed international port in Brunswick county.

No Port Southport got five thousand dollars from the Anderson-Rogers foundation to pay for the study. A research professor from UNCW’s Department of Biology and Marine Biology will head the project. The impact study will focus on the potential risks to existing wildlife and ecosystems from the proposed container port.
