No school and a yard of snow made for a lot of fun
Mix no school, and a yard full of snow, and you have any kid’s dream. News Channel 3 traveled New Hanover County to see how kids were spending their snow day.
This winter wonderland definitely is not a normal day in Wilmington; with snow on the cars, decks and grass.
“It was pretty magical when we got up this morning and got out of the house and it started to snow. Everyone was outside in our neighborhood screaming it was really exciting,” said Wilmington’s Ania Heinberg.
For many youngsters, this was their first time to see the fluffy white stuff. Four year old Ezra Heinberg said, “I have not seen snow before.”
The first lesson about snow – making a snow ball. “Snowball are easy to make, especially if you have good packing snow,” said 7-year-old, Kade Lashley.
“One snow ball that one of my friends made for me, I threw it towards a building and it splatted the building,” said Ezra.
Other fun times include making snow angels and … eating snow?
“It would be great if we could have a couple snow storms every year so it would feel like we have a real winter,” Ania said.
