NOAA weather radio transmitter off air in Winnabow


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The NOAA Weather Transmitter is unable to broadcast right now out of Winnabow.

NOAA has been warning people on Twitter about the outage with the possibility of severe weather Sunday night. If you rely on the radio for severe weather alerts, there are other ways to get notifications. The National Weather Service said you can visit this website for details.  You can also tune into the StormTrack3 weather app for the latest details on severe weather.

The Winnabow Transmitter covers Bladen, Brunswick, Pender, New Hanover, and Columbus Counties.
