North Carolina State Fair attendance breaks record
RALEIGH (AP) — Officials with the North Carolina State Fair say more than 850,000 people attended this year’s 10-day event, breaking a record that has stood for seven years.
Officials say 858,611 came through the gates, up about 8 percent from the nearly 786,000 people who attended last year. The attendance broke the record of 846,724 people set in 2000.
The fair closed at midnight Sunday.
