Novant Health to lift visitor restrictions
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — In a news release Wednesday, Novant Health officials said they will lift the visitor restrictions put in place at several of their facilities due to the flu season.
The lift will be affective Thursday at 8 a.m., officials said. The restrictions were put in place on January 2.
The locations affected include the Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center.
“We appreciate the continued support and flexibility of our patients, their families and the community,” said Tom Zweng, MD, chief medical officer for Novant Health. “The visitor restrictions were necessary to protect our most vulnerable hospitalized patients, but now as we see the number of influenza cases continue to decline we are happy to invite the community back into our facilities.”
