NWS final storm report: multiple tornadoes in southeastern NC
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The National Weather Service officially confirmed the touchdown of three tornadoes in southeastern North Carolina on Monday.
A severe thunderstorm produced two tornadoes across Columbus and Bladen counties. The first tornado was rated at EF 0 intensity (65 mph winds) and touched down near Hallsboro. A second tornado later touched down near Council in Bladen County producing EF 0 level winds of 60 mph. A third tornado touched down near the Boardman/Cerro Gordo area with winds of EF 0 strength.
Only minor damage was reported with no major injuries or fatalities.
