Oasis NC hits halfway point toward goal of buying a bus

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — We have an update to a story we first told you back in February. Oasis NC is a non-profit organization in Wilmington that helps kids with autism and they are raising money to buy a bus.

The students currently are transported to off site activities by the teacher’s personal cars, but they are hoping to change that by getting a bus.

As of today, they have reached the halfway point to their goal of $25,000 dollars.

Their director, Erica Merriman, says the new bus will get the kids more involved outside the classroom.
